Trading Assets
The number and variety of trading assets determine a trader's ability to diversify and find profitable trading signals. Here, the picture is nuanced: Quotex claims over 400 assets in its catalog, while Pocket Option offers 100+ instruments. However, quantity is not the only criterion.
Pocket Option provides access to five asset categories: currency pairs (35+ pairs, including majors, minors, and exotics), cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple and others), stocks (Apple, Amazon, Tesla, Google, and about 30 more companies), commodities (gold, silver, oil, natural gas), and indices (S&P 500, NASDAQ, DAX and others). Additionally, 30+ OTC pairs are available for trading on weekends and outside exchange hours.
Quotex formally offers a broader catalog of 400+ instruments. However, a significant portion of this catalog consists of derivatives from the same underlying assets with various modifications. The main categories are the same: currency pairs, cryptocurrencies, stocks, commodities, and indices. OTC trading is available, but the selection of OTC instruments is narrower than Pocket Option's, and liquidity on some exotic pairs can be low.
Order execution quality is comparable on both platforms. Both use quotes from leading liquidity providers for standard assets and proprietary algorithms for OTC instruments. Slippage is minimal with a stable internet connection. Pocket Option additionally provides detailed statistics for each asset (percentage of traders buying/selling, historical volatility), which aids in making trading decisions.
In terms of asset count, Quotex formally leads; however, for practical trading, Pocket Option's 100+ instruments are more than sufficient. Most traders use 5–10 assets on a regular basis, and both brokers fully cover this need. Pocket Option's advantage lies in its more developed OTC trading and analytical tools for each asset.
The cryptocurrency asset category deserves special mention. Pocket Option offers binary options trading on major cryptocurrencies (BTC/USD, ETH/USD, LTC/USD, XRP/USD) with profitability up to 90% and expirations from 5 seconds. Cryptocurrency assets are available 24/7, making them attractive for traders who work non-standard hours. Quotex also provides cryptocurrency assets, but their selection and availability may vary depending on the user's region and time of day.
Social Trading
Social trading (copy trading) is a feature that allows you to automatically replicate the trading operations of successful traders. For beginners, it is an opportunity to earn while learning, and for experienced traders, it is an additional income source through subscribers.
Pocket Option offers a full-featured social trading system. The social trading section presents a trader ranking with detailed statistics: overall profitability, number of trades, average bet size, win rate, maximum drawdown, and activity period. A trader can select one or more traders to copy, configure the bet size (fixed or proportional), set a limit on the number of simultaneous trades, and establish a maximum daily loss. Copying occurs in real time — the trade opens on your account simultaneously with the original.
Quotex does not offer a social trading feature. The platform lacks trader rankings, copy trading, and any elements of social interaction between users. Trading is conducted exclusively on an individual basis.
For beginner traders, the availability of social trading on Pocket Option is a significant advantage. It allows you to start earning before you develop your own trading strategy. However, it is important to remember: copying does not guarantee profits. Even the most successful traders experience losing streaks, and past results do not guarantee future performance. It is recommended to use social trading as a supplement to your own trading, rather than as the sole method.
